Swing Into Spring - Home

Welcome to Swing Into Spring 2015, a weekend of dancing, workshops, and live music. We realize that there are a lot of events that you could chose to attend and we are honored that you're considering attending this one. Swing Into Spring has been around since 2009. Our goal is to bring the south east together as a region to learn from some of the best in the Lindy Hop community, to dance together, and to inspire each other through social dancing, music, and even a little friendly competition. .

We've got a lot of fantastic plans in the works so check out the website for all of the fun details as they're announced. See you on the dance floor!

Swing Into Spring Safer Spaces Policy

Swing Into Spring is committed to providing a safe and harassment-free environment for all attendees. Throughout the weekend the organizers and the event staff will be working hard to make sure everyone feels as comfortable as possible. If someone, whether it be another attendee, an instructor, or a staff member, acts in a way that makes you feel threatened or uncomfortable, please find one of the organizers, identified by their lanyard name-tags and let us know what happened. Each incident will be treated with the utmost discretion and confidentiality, and the organizers will work with you to help you feel safe and comfortable.

To report something, you can:

  • Find an Organizer: Nathan Clinebelle, Kate Wilson, Sarah Warburton, Matthew Presson, Andrew Copeland or Richard Durlach. .
  • Bring it to the attention of the front desk volunteer or floor captain, who will then get in touch with an organizer.

Harassing behavior can include but is not limited to: offensive verbal comments (related to race, age, religion, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size), sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. If you are asked to stop any harassing behavior, you are expected to comply immediately.

At any time during the event, if you experience or witness something you’d like to report, please find a care team representative or take your concern to the front desk volunteers, who will locate someone on the organizers and they will work with you to resolve the issue. Appropriate solutions can range from bringing the behavior to the harasser’s attention and requesting they stop, to expulsion from the event and, if needed, contacting law enforcement authorities.

Each incident will be treated with the utmost discretion and confidentiality, and the organizers will work with you to help you feel safe and comfortable.

We expect all attendees to comply with requests and policies made by the organizers, and to work together for a fun and safe Swing Into Spring experience!
